Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has been a reporter for over 45 years focused on suffering of people in conflict zones as well as natural disasters. Curry has covered wars across the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of Agana) was an American television reporter, anchor and journalist. She was most famous for her work as a reporter on The Today Show, a morning news program that was broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry is well-known for her reporting of emergencies and disasters that affect the human condition particularly in nations which have suffered the effects of the war. Curry's mom is Japanese and her father was an US Navy Sargent. Her parents met while her father was stationed in Japan after World War II. Because of her father's military service the family moved quite a bit. Curry attended High School in Ashland Oregon. In 1978, she graduated from in the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. As a child she was exposed diverse kinds of cultures. Her empathetic attitude towards the world is likely the result of these experiences. Ann Curry works as a well known American newscaster and journalist for NBC. The couple moved to various locations such as San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Then, she graduated from Ashland High School. Her first job would lead to a lucrative career as a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news anchor at this station at the age of 22. After that, she moved into the role of anchor reporter and anchor for KGW KGW, which was an NBC affiliate station located in Portland. Four years later she moved to Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. There were two Emmy Awards were won during her time with TV station KCBS.
